Whilst browsing the site I found a web page about the new seats Link here
I like the quote
For the moment our lips are sealed, but all will be revealed soon. Suffice to say, purple leather is involved.

I think this is a good example of not wanting to over promote something that can't be guaranteed. The Official Launch hasn't actually happened yet, though details have been press released. The new service stle is launched in November and then a big push will happen.

And to think the fuss SQ are making about a product not on ANY planes yet!

Hasn't worried VS before[}:)]

However, I do see your point. Any idea when the rollout will be finished on the A346s/brought out on the rest of the fleet?

Ah but it has got lots and lots of people talking about them though hasn't it? Having people log onto your site for whatever reason is good, if you just a small % of those book flights then it is worth it. SRB has always liked publicity (and then some) and I really think it can only be a good thing to promote the product which inturn is promoting the airline.

From what I remember the A343 and LHR 744s will start refit early 2007 and most of the LHR fleet will be done by the end of 2007. LGW during 2008.
There are some other changes to B744 fleet configs as well but I'll leave that to your speculation!

My guess.....more PE seats on LHR B744's and more UCS on LGW B744's??

I def agree about the extra UCS on the LGW/MAN 744's - surely there must be more demand then there are seats and could easily be filled, especially with new routes like MBJ where it is a more "sophisticated" type of traveller than your typical B&S family hol to MCO.

Prob also agree with the extra PE seats, it seems they are becoming very popular.

I agree about more UC on the LGW a/c. At LHR, maybe the upstairs UC could be replaced with extra PE, although where would the sleep zone go then?[:?]

Look what you've started now, Ben[:p]

Believe only 6 of the A346 currently have the new PE fitted - they are listed in this thread here. V-Ben has mentioned in a few topic that the rest of the roll-out should start in November with the A346's first.

WHICH planes have the new seats - I think it would be a very useful thread for the mods-only to update. I fly a lot of PE and I'd love to which planes have the new seats (I realise that there's no gaurantee that I'm going to get the plane of my choice - but at least I'd be in with a shout).

Something similar has been suggested hereby Rob. It would be nice to know, but guess we would be relying on VS staff who use the board to keep us updated, or pax who have actually flown an a/c with them on, so maybe it would be better to keep it so everyone can give the info.

I'm flying back from JFK in premium on the 15th Jan. I've swapped from VS046 to VS010 so that i have a chance of getting the new seats.

cant wait to try them out!

Well this looks promising - travelling out on the VS3 next Thursday and back on the 26 on Nov 3rd so hopefully a reasonable chance of trying the new seats...! Of course I wouldn't turn down an OP-UP to UC [}:)]

G-VFIT is currently not fitted with new PE seats as I was on it last Thursday however the new Y seats are installed. The new Y seats are better than the old ones IMO and the new more legroom in Y is much more noticeable in config 2 along with the water fountain.

P.S I have a photo (camera phone hence not so good quality) of the new Y seats which i will load up when I get home in 2 weeks as I am not on my own computer.
