VS73/74 Cancelled throughout September

A quick look at their website now shows that they have only cancelled 3 VS073/074 flights in November at the moment, all on Thursdays.

I was trying to say that we would know very soon whether it was running if it turned up at the gate or not, which I assume it did.

This is late I know.

Just to let you know virgin's response to the poor communications regarding our recent flight cancellation.

They basically apologised advising airlines are permitted to change schedules and that they always try to inform customers as early as possible. They advise they tried to contact us using our mobile number but that it was incorrect and unobtainable, they then left a message at home in the hope someone else would pick the message up and contact us.

As a gesture they compensated us with 10,000 airmiles each for the inconvenience. [}:)]

We have since rang to try and find out the mobile number held on the system, it turns out it has two of the digits round the wrong way therefore they obviously could not contact us. We provided the API over the telephone so cannot say whether the error was ours or their's.

All in all we accept the response and the airmiles are an added bonus. It was interesting to see they at no point advised we should have contacted them to confirm the flight details.

Glad to hear that you got something out of them Nevil30. You would've thought that VS having your mobile number wrong will hinder any compensation claim if they decided that it was your fault but looking on the birght side getting 10,000 miles each is pretty sweet. Well done [y]
