Anyone flown on this 346 yet? Just found out it's my plane to EWR this afternoon.

Delayed for one hour (VS001)

It's was delivered to VS late on Thurs evening from Airbus. It took it's first sectors to LAX yesterday. VS must be short of metal this afternoon as it only arrived back as VS24 at 15.30 - This is why you are delayed by an hour. :D

Worth waiting an hour for brand spanking new metal and seating though. Write us a TR on the new seating if you get time....[y] Enjoy.....:D

Oddly a little bit over excited about it. Was scheduled as a 747, but changed. Little sad at losing upper deck seat, but quite like the 'new plane smell'.

Will attempt to capture images of said flight. I only ever seem to get shots of my feet (as witnessed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/747400)...

O yea i forgot to mention that i sat in the cockpit for about 15 min. The pilots were joking that it would be the last time they saw it clean.

Hmm, it seems they have added a nice shiney line on the tail. I really am not that disapointed with the livery. This photo makes it looks the best.

I had a friend on this flight (Sitting in Y) and he mentioned a numbers of problems with the in flight entertainment system.

He also had a number of problems at check-in too, and security. And then to top it all off the van transporting him to pick up his car had a crash.

The IFE didn't work for most of the passengers for most of the flight. Plus another aircraft lost a tire on the runway so it slowed departures down - we were 2 hours late on take off.

The only thing that did work was the crew - and really really hard. The flight was completely full and it must have been a nightmare placating IFE free bods. I managed to snag a DVD player so it wasn't bad at all.

Was on this flight in Y, there did seem to be some IFE problems and my screen locked up when I tried to use the airshow towards the end of the flight but it didnt seem like many people around me were having more problems than vport usualy has. The new Y seats are a positive delight compared to the old metal bench arse destroyers. Seat padding is much impoved (not as thin as before) the lumbar support bag is a nice touch. The new head rest is good for the tall but it isnt clear that it has wings (just pull it however and it'll bend for you). Other big improvements are that the seat base now extends when you recline making sleep much more possible than before as your not forever sliping off the seat. IFE screens look a little bigger and the seats now feel noicably wider with the IFE handset being in the seat back rather than the armrest where i used to constantly pause and stop my films by mistake before. All in all good stuff VS, lets see this seat rolled out ASAP across the fleet. One comment however if anyone from VS might be reading would be to work on the cabin lighting in Y, it's far to bright with the lights up (like a shopping centre or something) a warmer, dimmer light would be much more relaxing in my opinion.
