When is annual charge due for card upgrades?

my wife has upgraded her MC to an Amex Black, and she has been charged £110 on the first statement - I thought I had read this was payable at the end of the first year, but can't find this now...

so, when is the annual fee due when you convert?

I thought it was on the next anniversary of the card, the anniversary being of the account itself (i.e. since Mastercard). E.g. mine will be next month (although I'm going to try and haggle the fee)

i just got my new amex black card last week and i was charged the £115 annual fee straightaway.I thought it was at the end of the 1st year too.

Your annual fee calculation just carries on from your M/Card account. My M/Card fee was due in July 06 so my Amex fee will be due July 07.
