I don't usually use firefox, but msn seems to be down just now. Tell me, firefox seems to load sites and pages much more quickly - is this pure coincidence??????????? If so, bye bye msn methinks.... [:p]

That page actually redirects to IE7 ... the lengths some will go to ...

Firefox is a light browser with a powerful engine, and so should be fast at loading pages, especially if you have the FasterFox add-on. Firefox also uses system memory as opposed to a fixed memory cache which in theory should make it faster when it needs to - though can cause the strange memory leak which is (touch wood) being addressed in Fx 3.0

Anyone not running Firefox 2.0, check for updates now! :)

Just have checked for updates but mine only claims to go as far as 1.5.0.7 - Are you running a beta (YUK)?

You might have to go straight to Mozilla to get the update (try here).

All 1.5's should be updated automatically but Mozilla have had real issues as their FTP server died a few days back due to the huge number of attempted downloads for 2.0. A local University are hosting a mirror site to counteract the hits.

Personally, i use Fx 2.0 at work and on my Mac, and the Alpha of Fx 3.0 at home. There is nothing wrong with running a Beta if you have your profile backed up and are prepared for a few crashes.

I use a mix of IE and FF. I do tend to have a lot of problems with FF and links to multimedia clips, like Amazons preview links. Although I have the media players installed on my PC, they don't seem to interact with FF very well. [?]

Do you have the media plug-ins for Firefox?

Firefox doesnt need to use your separate media player, the plug-in's allow media to be played within the browser itself. Check here for currently available plug-ins.

I'd also install DivX and do away with WMP :)

Sarah, I have always had problem with Quicktime 360 in Firefox, no matter how many time I cllick on that install missing plugings button and download and install another quicktime product it still doesnt tie it.

Anyway I am going to have a look to see if I can now get V2.

Have you seen msfirefox.com is closed! Maybe something to do with Richard? Can't workout who the lawsuit would be from, I guess Firefox have more to loose than MS on this one.

That countdown problem is usually due to you using 24hour clock format and then specificy AM for a PM time - Check your sig.

You need to make sure that your countdown section conforms exactly with the formatting mentioned in this post otherwise you'll get an error (which isn't browser-specific).

Please post any further problems with countdowns in the Clubhouse forum, so they're out of public view ;)

Check you have the Quicktime plug-in intalled for your browser. Launch Firefox and type about:plugins in the address bar. You should (hopefully) see QuickTime Plugin 7.x ... etc

If thats there, try this plugin test. If you can play and hear all three clips then your plugin is installed, it just (probably) needs configuring in Control Panel to ensure the browser plugin MIME settings are activated.

Try that and see how you get on!

Plugin Test all works, as does most other Multimedia. It is just those pesky QT VR on that site I linked to above. I have never had it working (apart from in IE). So do they work for you?

I checked the about:plugins and quicktime 7.1.3 is listed MANY times for almost every imaginable extension.

It doesnt work for me either, though it does if i hit IE tab.

I'm guessing that the page has used the dreaded tags, as the plugin is there and obviously working correctly otherwise you would have run into the install missing plug-ins message on loading that page.

Do you have IE tab? If not, go get it, its a good workaround for these issues. I'll have a word with Moz.Dev and see if i can suss this one out. Sadly, i think it may be a case of bad page development! bqsound tags are non standard, so they'll work in IE as its a non-standards compliant (or aware!) browser. Fx doesnt see these tags as they shouldnt be there.

I didn't think so, and it displays fine on explorer. But maybe I have!

Yes I do have it and use it frequently. It would just be nice to get what seems to be a simply issue working in Firefox (without the need of ietab)
