Returning to the UK this week from Sydney and promised to bring my son back a didgeridoo. Anyone know if these class as musical instruments and would be permitted in the UC cabin (space permitting)? It's only half size , around 3ft long, but just too big to fit in our suitcases.

I guess it'll be a hunt for roles of bubble wrap later today as I doubt I will be allowed to take a 3ft 1kg tree trunk onboard , but just wondered if anyone else had experience ?

Maybe it can be instead of your laptop or garment bag - I would have thought some place could be found to put it in the cabin- it's getting it through check-in/security that's the problem[:?]

I have carried a picture rolled up within a 3ft tube as hand luggage before. It fit quite nicely in the back of the overhead bin. Cabin crew and ground staff weren't bothered by me carrying it.... :D

I saw quite a few didgeridoos being carried onboard when i left SYD so i dont think its an issue, i guess its the standard novelty souvenir!

Might try for that Hattori Hanzo on my way back from NRT after all .. :)

Thanks,
Sarah

I bought back a Didgerdoo last year in the PE cabin. Wasn't a problem, I also had my normal hand luggage allowance.
