Very little publicity by VS though. Compared with the Ashes themselves last month and the Ryder cup team a couple of years ago not much has been said...:D

Wonder why there wasn't must press on it??[:?] Thought it would be a prime op for SRB to rub it in BA face???

Can't remember which paper I saw it in, but there was a near full page article in the sports section all about the UC suite that the players were going to enjoy on their 24 hour flight.

Must have been a quiet day for sports stories I guess!

Cheers,

The Times did a write up on what the team could expect in Upper and kept referring to the differences with BA and why they chose VS.

ÒEven Steve Harmison will fit,Ó a Virgin spokesman said. Harmison, who is 6ft 5in, should have an inch to spare

Not a chance! I am 6'2" and dont fit in, well unless i dangle my legs off the otterman.

Lucky them:D[8D]

Being more spacially efficient (well about 5'8'') I fit perfectly into a suite. In fact, one might say I was made for them - I certainly like to think so;)

It was on sky sports news a lot too, with lots of footage of UC.

There has been coverage on the national news here of their arrival.

VS plane on tarmac, flag out the window. A few seconds of the cabin crew and some of the team just about to deplane.

Apart from The Times article which was posted on our intranet and a few other newspaper cuttings I didn't see anything else but I'm told the news that night (which I missed) featured quite a bit.

We covered it on Friday evening. Well organised by VS press office and there was plenty of coverage, including a live interview by the BBC with Flintoff on the tarmac prior to departure. I think the VS publicity will carry on in Sydney, so they've done well on this one.

Loved the BBC prime time coverage--standing right outside the VS plane (couldn't catch her name) on the tarmac. I for one, am quite proud of VS being the official transport for sports teams. If I have to suffer through their contests once they arrive, it at least helps to know the teams have had a lovely transport in anticipation.
