Miles from credit card to flying club

This months miles seem to have appeared today. Been quite quiet on the Amex front recently, hopefully it means MBNA are sorting out the majority of the issues with it?! [?]

Hmmm, not sure it's getting better.

Have just received 1,930 miles this month according to my Flying Club statement, though the MBNA site ( and my own calculation ) says it should have been over 11,000 miles.

Anyone else having this same nonsense this month?

Nope, as usual got exactly the correct number of miles showing on my statement (f anything sligtly more than I expected!) and then just had those miles put into my account today as per previous months.

Never had a problem with the figure on FC statement matching the figure on MBNA statement. The key issue many of us have been complaining about is the fact that MBNA don't apply a consistent formula to calculate the miles in the first place. I still have no idea how they actually derive the figure on the statement as discussed inthis earlier thread - we all know what the formula should be, so why can't we see a spot on tally?

Mine's been fine up until now also, although the number of miles on the MBNA statement has occasionally been off, but I've always been on the right side when they've hit the Flying Club account. This is the first time I've been worse off.

Phoned MBNA who are investigating and who will report back to me in 5 working days. They were able to see 1,930 miles issued to Flying Club, yet earned over 11,000 on the November statement, so not sure what they're going to be investigating, seems pretty straightforward......

And yes, agree about the transparency of it - why aren't the miles earned shown somewhere, maybe not for each transaction but why not a summary that says :

"£2900 qualifying spend @ 4 miles per £ = 11600 miles
£1600 qualifying spend @ 6 miles per £ = 9600 miles
Total miles earned : 21200 miles

You have £12,432 left before miles earning switches to 2 miles per £, or the xx July 2007, whichever is sooner.

Spend another £256 to earn your first Premium Economy upgrade reward"

I'd better snap out of this dream now, shouldn't I? [:p] Getting the right miles is difficult enough......

Agree that a summary would be good.
My miles get credited a month in arrears.
Also finding many places that do not like AMEX, rather limiting the places I can use it.
I did ask if there was an alternative card that I could apply for, was told No.
Also advised to email customer advocy @ MBNA and that was pointless, as I've had no reply.
