Sorry, I know I've asked this question before but interested to know if things have changed. What with the new liquid allowance since 6th November, and Virgin's advice of further security delays, does anyone know the fast-track at Gatwick is now open?

Thanks.

I doubt it. Given that they now have 'extra' work due tot he relaxed rules on liquids, they'll be in no fit state to operate the Fast Track queue.

Me and Sarah went through LGW at the end of September when it was closed and encoutnerd the 'helpful' member of staff that informed us of his opinion that 'Why should someone who has paid more money get through security any quicker?'. He had management material written all over him, well that or a future career at MBNA or AmEx.

If it is closed, you can always try upstairs at the other security screening facility - between Boots and McDonalds. Not that well known and can be much quieter, but not always. Just allow more time in case.

Thanks,
Richard

Just composing today's TR from VS 27 but Fastrack is now closed until further notice [:(!]

Also the line to get into the Departure Lounge on Monday evening stretched right the way back in a snake around Zone A. Allow 2 hours to get through is the advice from Virgin & BAA [^]

I was at LGW on Sunday - seeing the in-laws off on VS015.

The queue was indeed snaking back through zone A but was moving pretty fast - although a bit slower as we moved closer to the front and the queue was split up. Probably took about 30 minutes from joining to completing security.

Incidentally their was a queue on the other side that was going through the fasttrack lane - I guess this was just another standard queue - but it was a lot shorter.

We are flying next monday morning - treatments booked in clubhouse for 7.30 and departure time is 9.15. What time would you suggest getting there - first time in clubhouse so want to make the most if it

The Gatwick Clubhouse opens at 7am, so i'd plan to arrive at the CH doors for then to ensure you get the chance for a coffee/champers/drink before your treatment. Given the recent scrum of security i'd get there with a little time to spare. At that early in the morning i would imagine 45 minutes to an hour would be more than enough from arriving to clearing security.

If you are a little early to the CH they usually let you in, well, they've let me in before when i have had my face pressed up against the glass at 6.45 [:I]

Thanks,
Sarah

Well here's the thing ... I had a treatment booked for 8.30 am so bearing that in mind I arrived in the Terminal at 6am [}:)]

Sod law through in 2 minutes then nhad an hour to wait till the clubhouse opened [:#]

BTW the Security in Gatwick Village that LRoM & High Flyer have previously mentioned opens at 7.30 am but the Clubhouse told me that it's selective opening. It certainly wasn't open on Monday evening.
