BA Bulkhead & Exit Row Seat Assignment On Line

I haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere...

According to the Travel section in today's Times (sorry, can't find a link) from "next month" BA are to allow selection of bulkhead and exit row seats from 24 hrs before scheduled flight departue.

Good for BA, and it's about time Virgin started doing this instead of scamming extra money from people.

On the US carriers we've been able to do it for years, albeit if you have status in frequent flyer programmes!

Ah yes, they're not mutually exclusive! And why change a habit ...

I read something yesterday in the Telegraph travel section that from the 5th of Dec. BA will allow only families with children,gold and silver card holders and fully flexible tickets to reserve seats prior to travel. Everyone else will have to do it at checkin.
So it seems if you are booked on a non flex Clubworld ticket you cannot reserve your seat number until you get to the airport[n]

Sorry Paul - forgot - it was a bulkhead (Row 1) not an exit seat.

Let's hope that this isn't a lead that VS feel compelled to follow.

I did OLCI for my parents today who are flying BA and it would not allow me to select Exit Row/Bulkheads[?]and I did the OLCI literally the second it opened so every one could not of been taken by other pax using OLCI too! Is it something that is available only on selected routes maybe? (they were flying to MIA)

I have just booked WT+ seats for 2 gold & 1 blue card holder and the whole front row is blocked off to all of us,you must have to grab it at check-in.
