There's even a little bit comparing VA PE to 3 other airlines having similar seating for UK holidaymakers in today's The Sun "newspaper"

Consider yourself awarded a Gold Star, Tinkerbelle ;)[y]

You're also doing better than the pillock that researched the "article" for the Sun, too. VS Baggage allowance in PE?

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: 23kg per person plus 6kg hand luggage.

Two page spread in the mail magazine today about PE seats [:(!]

So i am really looking forward to our trip in a few weeks from Manchester to St Lucia in the new seats and watch the amazing i quote " state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system [:0], (ye right lets wait 45 minutes for the tape to rewind and boot up again)and not the tatty old faulty seats we had in August to Barbados and not forgetting the terrible quality TV screens and screen surrounds that fall off every time the person in front moves a bit and not feeling embarrassed into asking for another beer on a 9 hour flight.

why o why o why don't they up date the whole fleets seats and TV systems and then rant on about how great, they are it shouldn't be able to say these things, are they jumping the gun 6 months to 1 year early when the whole fleet is upgrade.

many regards

Dave

Have to agree with these sentiments, Dave.

I've said it before with monotonous regularity but, hey, I'll say it again: the best aircraft, the best crews, and definitely the best service are reserved for LHR departures [n].

Remember the london crew are dual based at LHR & LGW so the crew sould provide the same service at both airports.

Just a quick question while "state of the art entertainment" is being mentioned...(and this does only apply to v:port)

Where other airlines (First Choice and now BA) advertise video demand, do they actually have anything close to the selection you get on VS? I looked at the Sun link and it says you get 9 hours of on demand TV shows on First Choice... That's not all that much now is it? I don't travel all that often so don't have an idea what other people offer...

So...is there an on demand system out there that has more/better content than v:port?

I'd assume carriers like Emirates and Singapore have equal if not better AVOD systems. But when you think about it, 9 hours isn't that much. VS has at least a couple days worth of television shows and movies when you consider that there are 58 movie channels each having a movie say an average of 1.5 hours long. That comes to 87 hours right there.

My info states that we have 'Over 200 hours' of film and television on V-Port.
BA are saying they'll have 'Over 100'.
Emirates state 'Over 500', not too sure about SQ.

I think i'm right though that SQ and EK only have their AVOD on a proportion of their fleet as well (and I think with both its less than 50%).

BA are lucky in that their refit will not need an entire IFE rewire, as we would need for the A343s and LGW/MAN 744s.

Then the kind passenger in front of you reclines his seat

I hate it when people moan about reclining your seat. I have just as much right as anybody else in the cabin to recline my seat. And why should i have no room when they will probably recline theirs and have bags of space. If they hate it so much, book bulkhead seats pay to go in upper! I actually had somebody push my seat forwards after i reclined it just a little way a few years ago.[:(!]

Anyway, back on topic...
