As new prem econ seats are being installed wouldnt it be a good idea to install the new economy seats whilst the a/c are there. i know that this would mean that the a/c would be out of action for a while longer but doesnt it save sending the a/c there in about 2 or 3 years time? and as the A380 has been set back the B744s will be here for a whi8le longer so why not install the new seats?

I thought I saw some pictures of some new economy seats ?!? I was talking to a member of cabin crew on VS21 the other day, and she said the new economy seats with the handset in the seat back would reduce the number of false cabin crew calls when people knock it by accident. I know I have done that a few times in error.

what i meant was i think that they should be rolled out onto the fleet onto the A346s that dont have them and the B744s whn the premium economy seats are fitted

You did is in the gallery, I snapped the shot.

The new seats are also better for the passengers as well. Of course apart from accidentally pressing the call button but no more nudging the volume or contrast buttons. There are more adjustments for your lower back support too.

Used the new economy seats on the VS024 on Saturday night. I liked them, the recline and the lumber support are much better.

The new Ycl and Wcl seats are being installed at the same time (ISTBC?).

The first few aircraft with the new Wcl seat had the old Ycl seats because they weren't ready yet, but the past few aircraft to be refitted do have the new Ycl seats as well.

The new Y class seats are on G-VWIN, G-VFIT, G-VFIZ, G-VYOU and G-VRED.

The priority at the moment is the rollout of the new W class seats.

This information should be added to the site's aircraft database similar to the information for the new W class.
