This is odd.

When I try and book online a standard room in a hotel in Antigua and add a Prem Econ flight inbound the cost of the hotel room goes up. If I add U Class the room price goes even higher! If I leave the room with an economy flight the room price does not change.[?]

I have emailed VH but no reply has been received. Does anyone know why VH charge you more for the same room when you have already paid extra for a flight upgrade?? Is this a crafty way to make some money on the sly, or a computer glitch at their end?[:?]

Depends where you're looking!!

If you look at the price of the hotel on the "room booking " page where they list the various room categories then this proce includes the PE element of the total fare - however - when you get to the end of the booking on the "total amount" page then this should show the base hotel price along with the various upgrades/surchages/supplements/attraction tickets etc and total holiday price.

Also - if you are in the FVC this discount will be added after you have clicked to confirm the booking - but remember to put the "online discount" back into the price before you take off the 10% as you cannot have both discounts applied to your booking.

I think it is due to VS thinking that if you can afford PE you can pay a little more for your room. And if you can afford UC......

I think it's just the basis of the pricing. It starts with the assumption that you're booking a room with an Economy flight and the price displayed for the room occupancy includes the flights (if any) that you've selected to get there. As Mark says, if you navigate through to the end you'll end up with the same basic price for the room + a variety of supplements (weekend flights, Premium Economy etc).

The room goes back to its original price once you get to the
booking confirmation page.

Thanks guys. All sorted now, it all squares up at the end like you say. Just a bit confusing for the novice like me!
