VS have announced another sale, this time to celebrate the PE re-launch.

Dates through to March 2007 -
Dubai from £569
New York from £678
Orlando / Miami from £708
West Coast from £732

Typical - I need a fairly short notice PE (or maybe UCS[:w]) flight to SYD early December and its about the only one not eligible for a cheap deal![:(]

Me neither, I'm just hoping the new Premium does not come at an additional premium price.

BTW, I wish VS would sort out it's Special Offers page on it's Web Site. It now shows 3 different PE Sales Fares to the same destinations, the new sale(as above), a book by 28th Nov and a book by 14th December all with totally different prices.

And notice the T & C's that state all new improvements may not be available on all routes [:(!]

£708 to Orlando ain't much of a deal ... It's normally around £750 [:(!]

Represents a good deal if you're travelling in the next few weeks as normal short notice supplements are not included. Hence a return JFK flight that was £900 a couple of days ago is now less than £700.

It is when the normal fares are around £800 in the summer holidays, at this time of year it drops to around £330 inc. The advantage is that the prices are predictable all year round, so as long as you get booked early enough.

As per usual with these deals, the keyword is "from". Some of the date combinations show £2,335 (and it's not even the Easter holidays). In light of that £732 would be a bargain.

Ah, agree that it's a good price - I wasn't disputing that. My point was that there are MUCH better route deals out there

Booked my March ticket today, 756 pounds to PVG is not too bad although I can't change the dates (always a little bit worried when I book so early).

Ycl is 534 pounds today, so pretty good PE deal to me. I know the Ycl may get down a bit if they do a Ycl sales. But you really don't want to stay with students in that full Ycl cabin.

Still haven't book my Feb tickets to PVG, with a hope that my employer will allow Upper class booking (for flights more than 5 hours) from the new year.

Hope VS run another sales for summer tickets, wife want to visit Hong Kong for the first time, and I need to be there for business.

I am up to any Virgin sales on PVG and HKG routes!

In May I paid £721.00 for an economy ticket to Cape Town on SAA, so yes it is a very good deal (if you are lucky enough to get the new seats). I would still rather pay a bit more for economy with SAA than be stuck with VirginÕs old seats for over 12 hrs.

Had I booked with VAA I would have ended up stressed before the flight, then either really happy that I had new seats or really disappointed with the old ones. As I have only flown with VAA in the past SAA with fingers x make a nice change. I have never had a problem with Virgin appart from uncomfortable seats.

Looking at the trip reports on http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/seats.htm it is interesting that SAA do not have one negative report when people are so qiuick to complain. The same can not be said for VAA. Looking forward to trying the new seats next time around.
