Amex - French motorway tolls/petrol stations

Hi

Does anyone happen to know if Amex is acceptable for payment at French motorway tolls and French petrol stations? Off skiing soon (if there is any snow!) and would be useful to know.

I'm not sure about Tolls as I have always paid in cash, but I've used Amex in the past and most service stations in France.

Supermarkets in France is another story though... [V]
