VS AMEX - December Points

Has anyone had their December points from their AMEX card credited to their FC account?

Yup, i had a credit on the 4th December, and then another on the 31st December. I hae not bothered to check my statements to see if they tally yet, but i'm happy to see sizeable credits to my FC account!

Yep, same as Sarah, got mine the other day. Have you ever received any in previous months or is this a new account? If the latter, it may be worth checking that MBNA have the correct FC number on your account.

Same here - once again got correct amount of miles credited for my December spend on 31st December.

There is a pattern here, but mine as well, correct and on 31st Dec. I got my companion reward just before, but still no PE upgrades.

Phone them and ask them what your FC number is, don't tell them yours and get them to confirm it's correct. Good luck!

Last month MBNA did not have my flying club number, so I gave it to them, I was expecting to see my points by today, but I have not, a further call and apprently as I did not use my card at all last month the points are on hold until I do, then they will transfer, so now I have to wait another month!

I spoke to MBNA, they didn't even have a flying number for me! I am certain I gave it to them. Oh well, never mind, they've now added it but did warn me that I'd need to use the card again before the points would be added to my account.

Interestingly there seem to be a number of "brickbats" thrown at MBNA and I have to admit then when I first got the card miles were not being credited to my FC account and they calculated the value of VH transacations incorrectly. However - since July all has been well.

This month they got the miles nearly correct but once again got a VH deposit amount wrong - 2 miles instead of 4. So I rang the call centre and got through after a few button presses in about 2mins! The adviser was really good and very friendly but did not understand the nuances of how the VS/FC/AMEX scheme worked. I suggested to her that MBNA should have a "specialist" for this scheme - and she confirmed that they do!!. So Hurrah!! This person is going to call me tomorrow and sort out the issue - but once we have her name then at least we can all call in and ask for someone specific who understands how it all works (hopefully)

Mine are getting credited OK now each month. Also got another Companion flight credited. One in July and one on 01 Jan 07. Weird..

Did anyone get their bonus miles for first use for upgrading to the Amex. Not convinced I got my 10,000 miles

Also (may answer the first question), during the overlap period when the MC and Amex (black) both work, do they credit the 4 * miles for first £20K spend even if the MC is used, or can they tell the difference and credit 2 miles for MC useage?

If there was a breakdown of how they calculate the miles it would all be so much easier!

The first companion voucher took into account your spend with the VS Mastercard, anyone who had reached the required spend on switching to thr AmEx had their companion voucher sent out in the Summer. You should have got this with your first posting of miles. I did, although i didnt get the full amount for that month due to inept MBNA, i got them credited a few months later. Check your statements, if you have not had them do call MBNA - just get a coffee beforehand!

On your statement, transactions on the two cards were indicated by a hash (#) in front of Mastercard purchases. I believe that still attracted the x2 spend, but MBNA were still trying to get the hang of things and i think a few lucky people were getting varying credits for those transactions.

I must be the unlucky one !!!!!

I had about 7,500 miles credited to my VS Account dated 31st December.

My December monthly statement finisned on 2nd January with about 15,000 miles at the bottom, hoping that it will be corrected shortly. If not another jug of coffee while on the phone yet again !!!!
