Early next year? Thought it was to be raised in the summer?

I thought it had changed as well, but apparently not.

Not that many people take much notice of it. But I guess for those who get caught out it will mean a slightly smaller bill.

No Graham- I meant Summer 2007 not 2006.If it comes in sooner than then it will be a bonus (all £340 of it).Wish Mr Brown would hurry up with the £1,000 allowance he mooted in the March budget statement.

Oh sorry, my misunderstanding. You are right there has been mention of different amounts and diff. times, why don't they just get on with it

The link provided still reflects the old amount of £145. There seems to be no clear indication anywhere when this comes into effect( Anyone know?). I also remember hearing 'early next year' too.

This would be the Gordon Brown who said he thought it was high time this outdated allowance was increased in line with rising prices? The same GB who has steadfastly refused to do the same with stamp duty, inheritance tax, personal allowances and pensions? Shameful man.
