For me, STD is far less convenient, doubling the travel time, so its a hindrance if I was ever to use Silverjet.

But Silverjet is flying from LTN, not STD.. I'm confused, aren't they in different directions?[:?]

LTN is more convenient for when I'm visiting my relatives in Northamptonshire, but VS/BA are cheaper to LHR so it's doubtful we would ever fly Silverjet.

[:I] Well I have to say something, can't pass this one up, but yes I can see how an STD is...well less than convenient...however for a lot of them 3 months of pill's and you will be back to 100 % :D

If you talking about airports...then STN would be a little out of the way for some,STD which is Santo Domingo, Venezuela would be considered a London airport only by Ryanair [:I]

But again Silverjet, Maxjet and to a point Eos are offering a J class product at less than a J class fare, in many cases closer to a W fare (PE/WT+ in non nerd speak) if your looking at price than sure VS/BA et al can beat the others on price if you are looking at Y prices against theirs, however their product beats PE/WT+ hands down and at least in MY's case it reminds me alot of the old VS UC product pre J2K seats.

Actually this brings up another thought.

And all the crew are having training at the le caprice restaurant in London for 3 days , The wash bags will be made by Space NK .

There will be a Ladie's toilet(As Some do miss the toilet) and No duty Free shopping on Board(But they will have duty free in the lounge , As you don't check in at the main Terminal , but a private Terminal) and no silly PA'S ,also there will be no call bells as the crew will always be in the Cabin . It's going to be a Restaurant Service no trolly dollies and just peace and quiet for passengers who want to rest or have a lovely 3 course Dinner and we will make your bed before you zzzzzzzzz...

And the service Training is 2 weeks long and loads of exams to make sure we know our stuff ... My trainer's are EX British Airways and Emirates , Welcome to an Airline where you are all V.I.P's !![y]

P.S The Cabin will be very sexy not like SAA .

Yes, silverjet is actually from from LTN (I assumed they fly from Stansted), but that's still just as inconvenient for me.

Well I have to say something, can't pass this one up, but yes I can see how an STD is...well less than convenient...however for a lot of them 3 months of pill's and you will be back to 100 %

Err...thanks for the advice[:I][:w][ii]

Hi peartree.
Thanks for the info on silver jet. Just one question though, Will there be a GentlemanÕs only toilet onboard also? (As some ladies do leave the seat down making it o so much harder for us guys to try and not sprinkle on the seat :D[:o)])
Only joking

I would however love some info on when it is anticipated to start the J'Berg rout. I am looking forward to flying silver jet very soon. We are lucky enough to have direct jersey Luton flights with Thomson. As there is no direct jersey Heathrow flight the silver jet base will be very appealing to us islanders.

Cheers Wayne

Nope, they're both north of London in that area outside the magic M25 ring where we are known to daub ourselves with woad on festive occasions. See here for the relative locations.

Oh Little News the Bermuda is still on for March and Silverjet is getting it's second 767-200ER from American Airlines and then they will test the Market for example ORD , JNB , DXB , PVG AND NRT but nothing is set in stone yet [:w].

Those pics of SAA look good; much better than BA IMO and just different to VS. I suppose it depends on whether you want privacy or a more open feeling[:?]

Darn I just stumbled on it.The cabin does look a little big for a 762, but using a fish eye you could get that effect.

Anyways, it looks like a decent cabin, if the price is right I may give them a go, right now im wondering if it will be VS PE or MY for my next flight, I want to see what effect MY cutting their IAD flight's will have on the on time performance of their schedule, as of late it has sucked.

Yes you are correct the ailse's are not that big , That's just for the advert . But the seats do have privacy screens that come up ( Half Moon shape ).

Enjoy your Flight and I'll see you soon :)

I see the £799 to NYC offer is back again. That'll teach me to book in the VS sale as Silverjet had ended their last offer!

The MD of Silverjet was on Radio 5 Weekend Business last night explaining why they were late with their launch. Apparently it all came down to suppliers and getting various services and parts in place. First flight is Thursday 25th January.

The one question he struggled with was "ferquent flyer miles" - and he stated that businessmen on expense accounts would prefer to fly on a cheaper business class ticket than have the miles. Im not in that position to be able to comment but it would be interesting to hear the views of those of you who benefit with personal miles from a business class ticket on VS??

He also claimed that more business people wanted to get out of LHR and fly from Luton ( cant call this London Luton as he did coz it aint in bleeding London!!) - what do peeps think of that?

Here are some real pics and video of the lounge, plane and cabin.

Those seats look very narrow though? [?]

Is it really carbon neutral or does the cost only offset carbon emissions to a certain extent?

The seats do look a bit narrow, probably due to that huge coaster in the middle. It also looked like you could have your legs scratched by that seat as it goes into recline mode.
