Anybody stayed here recently? Dragonbaby has declared that this is where she wants to stay for the few days we're there and as the day we arrive in HKG is our wedding anniversary I'm sure MR DL won't mind digging deep into his wallet if neccessary [}:)].Having read Deckers TR the MO looks nice too. Grateful for any help- haven't been to HKG since 1997.
Thanks
Julie

Stayed there in the summer of 2005, ask no more unless you are sure that Mr DL is digging deep .. :)

I uploaded some pictures to this forum under Hotels, i have more if you want to see them. I loved it, very personable and i felt very, very well looked after. Everything from the Rolls Royce transfers to the personal assistant at the airport.

Thanks,
Sarah

Aer John and I stayed there last summer and loved it so much that when the weather was so bad in Sydney to return to Hong Kong and to the Peninsula. I would certainly recommend it and can hardly wait to return

Thank you both ladies - having looked at your pictures Sarah, I think Mr DL will be requiring a JCB...Hearing that you both had such an enjoyable time makes me even keener to stay here.

Just an update -we've now booked our stay at the Pen (went for the Suite Experience package in the end).Hell it's only money!. We get one nights dinner in any of the restaurants (apart from Imasa)so do we opt for Spring Moon, Gaddi's (jacket needed for Mr DL) or Felix??The day we arrive is our wedding anniversary (most of which will be spent on a plane) and will be cut short because of the time difference in HK, so I would like the evening to be special.

Nothing more wonderful for a child travelling than to have their own room...and it certainly gives the parents a chance to, erm, enjoy room service... [y]

Own room! Her parents will be bankrupted after this trip! Child? Think 14 1/2 going on 34. Far more sensible than me most of the time[:0].I may well indulge in the "unlimited consumption of the mini bar " that's on offer though:D

Julie,

I have eaten in Felix in '05, and i think Wolves27 has eaten in one of the Pen restaurants as well. As i have only experienced the one, i cant compare it with the others. Felix was a lovely looking restaurant with brilliant views over Hong Kong. If you eat in the early evening you can watch the sun set and all the neon lights come on. The seating around the windows is set up for couples, with the chairs next to each other, facing the window, as opposed to being opposite each other. The food was nice, not the best i have ever had, but not bad by any means.

I hear the highlight of Felix are the washrooms and their spectacular view. Didnt see them myself though.

Thanks,
Sarah

Thank you Sarah for that.I do like the look of Felix (love the Starck look) but it's the food I want to be spectacular not the view out of the loo (LOL).

I must say, I particularly enjoyed the gents toilets adjacent to the top floor bar at this property.

Quite a unique experience in my view!!!

An experience that, no doubt, DragonLady will forego [:w]

I'm afraid I can't help with advice about restaurants in the Peninsula since all our meals were taken in the Lobby restaurant thanks to the most unadventurous eater in the universe - Aer John.
