I know it's been the topic of healthy debate, as to whether it was a VS or Airbus slogan, but it seems they've all now been officially removed. Apparently, the process was formally started in August last year.
"The reason for this was simply that the initiative had run its course and it was time to move on,'' said Jonathan Firth, director of projects for the airline.


Has anyone seen it on a plane since the 12th?

That's what I've been trying to point out to everyone when those threads on FlyerTalk/Here on the Seatle newspaper article were started. I'm pretty sure it was Denzil who told us back in June or July that VS would start removing them, and if you do a search on A.net it's nearly impossible to find an aircraft with a slogan relating to 4 engines or any slogan at all.

Also, I bet the reporter seeing my scathing comment on his last article made him think otherwise, I pretty much attacked his entire reputation as a reporter.. hehe [:p]

Hmm, would I be called cynical for believing the reason for removing the decals has far more to do with VAA flying twin engined jets in the future than any ETOPS ruling despite what Jonathan Firth may have said.

I'm hoping so, it would seem to be the likely reason. That way VS wouldn't be called hypocritical. Twins will finally let VS compete in some locations where 747s and 340s either can't fly to or are not an economically viable option.

Well I don't know, just look at where BA flies the 767 I guess. I mean, there's no use flying a 747 to an airport that will only fill up half the plane.

I was thinking of a 777/A330 which would be either the same or worse for thin routes.

I loved "More Experience Than Our Name Suggests" - I think the slogo's look awesome, especially the quirky ones.
