LHR Clubhouse - Must-Dos?

First time in the Clubhouse soon (always been a BA man before). Already booked a shave and pedicur for Mrs Jimbob247.

We are travelling with out 8 month old, he will have to do without a treatment...

Just looking for some advice on how best to fill the few hours we will have, what are peoples top tips, places to sit etc?

Where to sit - you will soon find a place that suits you, the bubble seats by the pool seem quite popular for putting little-un's in. I'd also be sure to check out the roof garden - get a nice view across the airport, with the occasional whiff of airline fuel.

Most people tend to use the time lounging and drinking, eating is also good too! I love to have breakfast in the restaurant area if our flight times allow.

Enjoy, the staff will do a fantastic job of looking after you, Mrs Jimbob247 and Mini-Jimbob247.

Make sure you do the grub 'n' champers thing, whatever the time of day, it's de rigeur. As to where to hang out with a wee one, we found the Lodge was a nice, partially enclosed spot away from the hub and, of course, the bub.

I'm not ... i just get excited by the pretty bubbles.

The guys and girls behind the bar are also very adept at making a fantastic range of cocktails, or why not have a go at making one up!

Was most upset when they got rid of the jag that was sat up there. It was a great place to sit in and make phone calls.... It was so quiet! Would have loved to have known how they got it up there though!

Sorry, but I thought that children under 12 were not allowed in virgin clubhouses? That's what has always kept us from adding it on with Virgin Holidays so I won't be much help.

Not correct. It is fine if they are part of a family group. There is even a play area for the little darlings.

If child is UC passenger or accompanying an UC passenger as a guest it is allowed access into clubhouse regardless of age as Jeremy has said.
VH however do impose an age restriction of 12 and over for access "bought" through themselves for passengers and their offspring aged 12 and over who are not sitting in the nice pointy bit.

The food is fantastic, Shepherds Pie is recommended, as is The Clubhouse Burger, we had seven hours in the Clubhouse to just be able to sit and sample the "ambience"...we did not feel let down.

The day beds are very comfortable, so that is an area I can recommend very highly,especially when you have quaffed a few Vodka and Tonics and a couple of glasses of bubbly.

Book yourselves a "treatment", the other half had her hair cut and says she has never had such a good cut, the shave I had was excellent.

These are the areas we have used, I will never travel any other class again, once tried never forgtten!!

Only if flying from Manchester. Its why we do not use manchester departures..

i remember seeing the table at the manor recording studios (also srb's) when recording there back in the 80's, although it may have either come from his home before or after it was at the studios...
