Hi all,

Having recently taken delivery of a new desktop PC I decided to salvage the wireless PCI card from my old HP t690 and stick it into the Dell 9200 that now sits buzzing away before me. Can anyone help me with identifying which driver I need and, where to get it?

Regards

Having had a look at the HP driver download page for your old HP T690 PC there's no mention of a wireless card so I guess the card was added at a later date.

Do you know what make your wireless card is John?

It was in it when I bought it (new) James and is listed on the spec sticker as "Integrated Wireless 802.11b/g with Software access point". The card has a screw thread on the back that you attach a cable with an aerial on the end.

yes, its a standard part on the T690.UK, I have one.
I have just had a look at the driver details and it says:
Wireless PCI 802.11B/G adapter WN4201B
Driver files C:documents and settingsall usersstart menuprogrammeswireless soft access pointinstall wireless software access point.lnk
and
C:windowssystem32DRIVERSPCTELSAP.sys

If you Google WN4201B, there's loads of sites with drivers for that.

If you can get your old hard drive connect by hook or by crook then the inf and all the drivers will be on that. Even if you can network the two boxes together that would be enough.

I got hold of the drivers but now the card has dissapeared off the system inventory. To begin with it was there with a question mark beside it but now it's gone. I have taken it out, re booted the machine, put it back in and started it up again bit it's still not picking up.

Aaargh!!!

Only got one spare. Blasted graphics card takes up two slots plus there is a physx accelerator in there too.

Forget it??
