I don't know if it is just me, but spotted this on eBay

Link

The amenity kit doesn't seem to have changed at all over more than 20 years!! Progress...I think not. Oh sorry you get a pen now ;)

Like the idea of the stickers though (Do not disturb etc)

Edit by mod to shorten link........ Nick

As GJ said, this is in fact an old kit, Y if I remember correctly. I agree the stickers were a great idea, and I am not sure why they went.

In fact the amenity kit has changed many times, and there is much discussion of it on the board (Particularly the various guises of Upper Class kits). The kit you get now will have much less in I am afraid. I don't think you even get a pen now in the Y kit.

Is there a noun for this unusual love of amenity kits? "Ameniphilia" perhaps? [}:)]

Each to their own I guess!

Ahh! The good (if that's the right word) news is that the Y kit does still contain a pen - a plastic one that matches the colour of the kit - which is actually fairly nice to write with for something so cheap. You also still get socks, eyeshades, ear plugs, toothpaste and brush - so not that much has changed. No stickers and no letter from SRB though [B)]

Excellent! I haven't travelled in Y for a while, and was under the impression that the bean counters had had their wicked way with the pens!

Yeah I remember those old kits. There where several stickers saying things like 'Please wake me for the food' etc. Those where also the days you got to keep your headphones too (which I still have somewhere)

I also still have one of those old black and red economy pens with small a square red writing pad too. They are in my car.

Call it "GJ's Corner"...call it what you want...but dear Lord, make it happen. Because I have no doubt that AMENITY KITS are the real reason people actually come to this site.

BTW, I bid $100 on that vintage AMENITY KIT. I want to win it. I want to own it. I want to lay with it as with womankind. I love AMENITY KITS.

Ahem, that is a small selection. The rest are stored away now and not on display - or have been given away to family/friends.

Yes, Nerd. I'll get my anorak back (Dave, send the pink anorak back over....).

Thanks,
Richard
