Hello Guru - just a quick question - we are flying to MCO and always pay £50 each for exit seats. This time, we are taking advantage of twilight checkin - can I request and pay for exit seats at this time, or will I have to wait for the day of flying, ie the next day? Thanks

Yes, it works just the same as regular check in!

Have a great trip[y]

Wasn't there some debate a while back about the ability of the staff to take payment on the TC? I seem to recall mixed experiences with some posters being fine and others being told the staff didn't have the machines. Of course it could be my memory is incorrect, or that VS have this sorted.

I would think that all check-in desks are now capable of credit card transactions, what with APD collection in full force.

Therefore, I think you should be able to pay for exit row seats at Twilight check-in Sandy.

I can never unbderstand why you should have to pay extra for Emergency exit seats.
In the event of a crash, you are expected to do some work for these seats, removing the window etc.. they should pay you for the acting FA role work! :-0 :-)

I flew Easyjet last week and was invited to site at one of the exit seats as nobody else was, even the "speedy boarders". £50 seems excessive it has to be said.

There's never usually a problem finding people willing to pay extra for the extra leg room. Most people don't consider the responsability that go with it though.

I've been on a few ex-LHR VS flights in Y and been asked if I would move to an exit row seat during landing and take off (as these seats have to be occupied during these times)

When I flew back up from LHR with BMI the other week, I was assigned an exit row seat during online check in hours before the flight, which I thought was odd as they hadn't physically seen me at that point [:?]

I would happily pay 50 quid - the leg room is soooo worth it (even if it were a 1 hour flight!)

Its called demand and supply.
If you want it, you pay for it.
If you choose to check in really really late and no one else in the queue ahead of you wants to pay for it first, you get it for free.

We live in a capitalist world

To be honest I was rather hoping that doesn't happen when I fly, whatever seat I happen to be sitting in[ii]. And I am pleased to report that thus far my hopes have been fulfilled in this area.
