I recently changed my flight from VS #8 LAX-LHR running the 17th of November to flying out on the 16th (1 day earlier) on the same flight. I had two seats for the window and the aisle pre-allocated before I made the change but now I have none, and there are no more pre-allocated seats to be chosen from. Since I have to pay the ticket change fee at LAX, I am not allowed to check in online. If I show up early enough will I still have an okay chance of getting a window and an aisle and more importantly, being able to sit together with my partner? Does anyone have any numbers on how many seats Virgin holds back for airport check-in passengers only?

40% of seats are held back for on-the-day check-in in Economy, from memory. These are released for OLCI however, but get ther early enough, you should be absolutely fine. The other alternative being the exit rows, which are held back from OLCI also.

And welcome to the site. [y]

Just a note, Exit Row seats in Economy are not free and are charged at either £50 or £75pp depending on the route (believe LAX is £75pp although ISTBC on this). As Paul has said though, if you are at the airport early enough there should be no problem with sitting together.

Welcome to V-Flyer btw
