FINALLY. I have just managed to bag a flight to/from MCO in UCS using miles. I had to book in/out of MAN but to be honest from where I am in the Midlands it doesn't make a lot of odds either way.

I know that MAN is seen as the poor relation even to LGW in terms of lounge and facilities but at least I can give it a go.

That's probably about it though for me with VS although as I booked another flight in Z I will accrue another 20k miles for that trip. I also have another 60k or so so may just get 1 more UCS out of it at some point in the future.

Hey maybe you can change to Gatwick last minute when seats (maybe) open up. 25 quid could be worth the extra free booze and hair cut.

Nice idea, but it won't make up for the travelling hassle (Takes me at least 40 mins to 1 hour longer to get to LGW due to M25!). To be honest I only ever use the LGW lounge as a refuge and somewhere to get a buttie. I am sure I can find that somewhere in MAN. Are you saying that the MAN lounge does not server Alcohol?

Am clueless on that issue and many, many other things. I have never been to the city that has the world's largest vending machine. Other VFers have been to the machine; in fact some even share the city with it. :) Wonder if the vending machine sells booze?

What is "soccer?" [:p]

GJ

Hey there playa'

Soccer is that silly 'sport' children play while kick each other's balls. Mothers shuttle kids to practice; hence the term 'Soccer Mom.' Other countries take soccer like a sport so in the nature of good will I shall respect that.

Hopefully we'll be going to MCO later in the year (reward/revenue or a mixture of both), probably PE out and UC back.

We've decided to fly from MAN this year too. I'm sure the LGW Clubhouse is nice but from Wolverhampton in the train it takes forever to get there. MAN is really quick.

Its even worse when you land, wanting to avoid London because of all the bags it takes about 1h30min just to get to Reading on the crappy local service.

Ultimately its for the seat. When are you flying, let us know what its like.

They will invite you to the Escape Lounge, bit of a dragon/prison warden on reception ( who kisses ass for singapore Upper pax and looks down on UCS ) but there is booze, nuts and cardboard sarnies.

p.s Under no circumstances touch the fresh Singapore Airlines sarnies or fruit, or the dragon will berate you.

Just thought I would add can't wait to see her face when I walk in with my 8 year old nephew in October[:o)]

An airline has its own particular sarnies, that sounds like some kind of apartheid!

It was the same when I flew Jet Airways last year. They gave us access to the BA lounge but we had our own sarnies!

Oh how I laughed as I mistakenly picked up BA PAX nuts!?

Much like the old Air Canada Maple Leaf arrangement that VS had in T2 at LAX. The VS UC & Au pax could get better food including hot food and champagne whilst the Air Canada pax (and it was their lounge!) just had to look on in awe [y]

Or the North worst lounge at BOS food was supposed to be for VS PAX only, didn't work though the KLM lot were into it like vultures:D
