Now here's a a story for you all that I hadn't come across before last Tuesday :D

On VS 45 to JFK which was more empty than the current Upper Class Amenity Kit (116 Pax), I was perched in 74a on the Upper Deck sipping Champaign, and dreaming of the Big Apple, when The crew asked me to move back downstairs to the Exit Row as there were not enough Premium Economy passengers to sit on the Exit Rows for take off/landing to comply with regulations !

I asked if I could invoice SRB 50 :D

The FSM couldn't stop laughing :D

I did get another glass of champaign ... plus goodies for my trouble ... and what can only be described as excellent service for the whole of the flight.

Oh and I got to get off 1st :D

Shame about the 60 minutes it took to get through Immigratioin at JFK [}:)]

I never realised that there had to be pax at the emergency exits[?]

I wouldn't have been too happy if it had been me they asked so well done for taking it more graciously than I would have[:I]

On all flights, the exit rows must be occupied during take off and landing. Obviously not a problem when the flight is full but I've been asked to move before now as well when loads have been light.

I've also been asked to move to a PE exit row - although I'm damn sure I'd be back upstairs in a flash after take-off [}:)]if I had to sit at the downstairs exit for take-off and landing[:(] when I was seated upstairs.
