With the current miles redemption offers we have a choice of where to use these miles early May.
Initially we thought Chicago but looking at the other options last night Mr L2H suggested Las Vegas [:0]. We are looking at early May so Chicago may be a bit cold and soggy ?
He is not great with heights so it's tempting just to see how he copes with the new Skywalk at the Grand Canyon [}:)]

We have been to New York, San Fran, LA so they are out of the equation. My concern is that LV is not going to be our kind of place. We do like a bit of culture. But part of me thinks what the heck , let's do it. We are looking to stay 5 nights, but are a bit flexible.
So my question is , what would you do with the miles ? I also have 2 premium upgrade vouchers so are looking for a route that we are likely to be able to use them on, and enjoy the Premium experience.
Help !

Many thanks in advance

Vegas has to be experienced at least once in your life. When our friends in LA suggested it to us as a destination for a few days we were a bit sniffy about it, but we've been back 3 times since. It's just so....odd, and I mean that in a positive way.

Though it doesn't rival South Ken for museums, there are some wonderful shows on. The Cirque du Soleil offerings are well worth the price of admission.

Remember to get to the GC you need to either take a flight or be prepared for a long drive.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to get reward flights though. It's ex LGW so the number of PE seats is quite low.

Hope this helps.

Just make sure there's not a time limit on the vouchers

Will do, thanks Honeylamb !
Apparently (according to MBNA) I have only just passed my anniversary on my black Amex card, so assume I have a year from now to use them... better check them T's and C's I guess !

L2H,

You can always buy that 8,000 miles you need. It cost 135 pounds for each of you.

But if you really fancy going extra distance to Far East, to see something totally different, 270 pounds extra is definitely worth it.

May is good season to visit Tokyo, pity Sakura season is very early this year, otherwise it will be even better.

If you decided to go there, make sure you arrange some excursions probably through the hotel. Even a day trip away from Tokyo will give you a totally different feeling about Japan, Tokyo is different from the rest of Japan.

(I will visit Tokyo in 10 days time)

I'd use the miles in conjunction with a L/B/Y/S/W fare.

For 2 of you, you could do buy a qualifying Economy Rev fare (L/B/Y) and and upgrade one way to Premium, and the other way in Upper. Or buy a qualifying Premium rev fare (S/W) and then upgrade to Upper both ways.

Thanks,
Richard
