Had an email from Virgin Wines informing me that you can now use your FC miles to purchase wines.

They say it is an offer exclusively for Virgin Atlantic customers, but that seems to be stating the obvious as you have to have FC miles to benefit?

Here’s how to do it

1. Call your local Flying Club helpline
---------------------------------------

Find your local number here:

2. Speak to an operator and ask for a Virgin Wines voucher in exchange for miles
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOP TIP - ask them to send you the voucher details via email, rather than waiting for them to post it to you!

The operator will ask for your Flying Club number, date of birth and postcode
£50 Wine Voucher requires 12,500 miles
£100 Wine Voucher requires 25,000 miles

NB: You should receive your voucher within 10 days of request.

3. Go to and enter your voucher number and password
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The amount will appear as a gift voucher in your account
Now the only thing you have to do is choose some delicious wines and just sit back, relax and let us deliver them for you!

I suppose it might have just been a reminder that you don't just EARN miles with Virgin Wines.....

Crap exchange rate though. For 25,000 miles if I used the same rate I get when upgrading to UC I'd want around £600.
