Hi guys, more noob Questions

I am thinking of joining my mates in Vegas next month... They have already booked on budget My Travel.com flight and stopping at the imperial palace

I am thinking flying VS over there.. day after due to work commitments [B)]and wanting to know where to stop. The Imperial Palace is about $300 More than the Planet Holiwood (I am SPG Gold so may get upgrade too)

Basically how far are the two hotels from each other? And what would you consider the better hotel? Is the Imperial Palace worth the extra $300 to stay in the same hotel as them... or gamble the $300 and stop in Planet Hollywood?

Cheers

Both are on the same side of the strip and within walking distance of each other.Planet Hollywood (formely the Aladdin)will be all new but I believe the Imperial palace has had some form of refurb recently too.I'd be tempted to save the $300 as the IP IMHO isn't that fab (but I've only been in the casino area)but it may be more fun actually staying with your mates.
Have a great time.

I would stay at P.H, for $300 more than I.P.

The world is going crazy if IP (a dump IMHO) is charging more than PH.

The walk will be about 10 mins at a leisurely pace.

I've never stayed at PH, but did stay at the IP about 5 years ago (not my choice, it was the venue for a conference).

I hated the IP, thought it was awful, but if it has had a refurbishment it may be better now.

It may be worth doing the "virtual tour" on the website to get a better idea about what it's like.

I agree with DL - it's often more fun being in the same place as your mates, especially if you need to stagger to bed after a late night;).

Planet Hollywood will also give you fantastic views of the Bellagio fountains, assuming your SPG Gold status can swing you a Strip Suite (a common upgrade, I've heard). Your friends up at the IP may not be your friends for very long though, especially since your room is $300 cheaper than theirs!

Cheers guys, There room worked out cheaper than what I would be getting as they booked part of a package a couple of weeks ago... Wish I was able to fly out with them too... but work is a necessary pain needed to pay for the trip!

I also didnt fancy 10hours having to pay for drinks/headphones/food and having a 30" seat pitch

[oo] Yes the IP is a toilet not long for this world..stay at PH and with the money you save take them to the buffet...not kidding it is one of the best in Vegas...assuming PH hasn't messed with it.

I went with MyTravel the first time I went to Vegas in 2003. The plane was really old, not much IFE and the emergency exit had water coming in, so I was getting wet. The landing was the scariest I have ever experienced as I was getting drenched and the woman next to me - a travel agent - was crying and gripping my hand so hard her nails cut me.

Great FA's though, and the holiday was brilliant.
