Just watching the reports on Sky about Glasgow. Hope no-one has been injured, well apart from the terrorists who did this, in my books they deserve all they get (assuming this was done on purpose and it certainly seems that way).

Hope this is not a start of a spate of incidents like this following the attacks in London yesterday.

Looks like terorist attack on the terminal building at GLA at 1515 today. First day of School holidays so over 35000 passangers traveling from GLA. The VS flight took off 15 mins before it happened but all other flights have been cancelled. Will be total chaos there for next few days at least! Who are these bloody people that are intnent of ruining holidays for people?

Actually Joey I watched the VS071 take off at precisely 15:17. This is also the time stated on the baa.co.uk site. That's two minutes after the official time of this incident. The flight was extremely lucky to have made it off the ground.

I was waiting for the Virgin flight as I missed last week's first MCO departure.

It was lovely to watch a Virgin aircraft fly out of Glasgow. I have a flat which has a great view of one of the flight paths for GLA. Sadly today the weather is awful and my view of the VS071 was hampered. She disappeared very quickly. On a clear day I can see the aircraft climb, and turn, for great distances.

Here's hoping that one day we get a Clubhouse at GLA... one to rival LHR. [:p]

Hi guys,

I am supposed to be off on holiday tomorow!

I fear there will be a blacklash on the streets of Glasgow.

You dont think it will happen on your doorstep and it shows that EVERYONE has to be vigilaint no matter where you are in the UK.

Not what you expect up here in Scotland. Luckily less passengers around in the afternoon, this morning with VS & EK having full flights plus the other normal carriers would have been perhaps worse.

I think the "bad guys" had a hard time from passengers who came into contact with them. I'm with Scorpio on her (sorry!!) concerns over a backlash on the streets tonight!!

Well The UK's national terrorism threat level has now been raised to critical tonight.

Be prepared for longer queues at UK airports.

Apparently a critical level means another attack is expected imminently.[:?]

Great; I'm meant to be off to NY tomorrow[:(!]

And now we're paying for them to be treated on the NHS - damn hippocratic oath. Dont't worry, you just crashed your burning jeep into an aiport in attempt to kill people, but we'll still have a bed waiting in our already overstretched health service next to the alcoholic waiting for their liver transplant[V][:(!]

Not quite sure where you are coming from on this as they are two separate things. Firstly you can't have a health service that picks and chooses which illness to treat even if it is 'self inflicted' via alcohol or smoking or diet.

Secondly, far better to treat this man so that he can then be questioned at length about the cell he was involved in..... Then by all means lock him up and throw away the key

I know; I don't actually think we should pick and choose but it is rather infuriating all the same.

He better come up with something good.

Just for everybody's info - I've been through LHR T3 this morning and the terminal was clear, quiet and calm this morning at 8am.

Thanks for the info, Tony. I'd guessed T3 couldn't change that much, as the drop off area is already isolated from the terminal frontage by all the construction work.

Looking at the redesign of the T3 drop off area, it's quite timely, as the plan is to move the kerbside much further away from the terminal doors anyway (as long as BAA can't resist developing that space for retail). I'm sure there will be a row of big concrete planters finding their way between the kerb and the terminal front.

I'm pretty certain that an "air gap" between the kerbside and terminal frontage will become a standard feature of airport design in the future.

Cheers,
Mike

Is the coach park at the south terminal at gatwick still operating as normal? If anyone knows that would be great. I am very concerned that BA are going to cancel my internal on Wednesday from Glasgow.

Hmmmm currently running an hour late at LHR but Hertz say the car pick up will be normalish... seems they've got all of Glasgow's cars so are a bit swamped..
