AA have announced they are going to fly daily flights from STN-JFK starting October 29th, it will be interesting to see how well it fairs against EOS and MaxJet, I imagine fares will be pretty keen to start with.

I hope it lasts a bit longer than last time they tried. [:w]

They did a Stansted - Chicago service in the early 90s, but I don't think it lasted a year.
Continental also tried Stansted - New York in 2002, but that only lasted a few months as well.

While I think about it... whatever happened to the American Airlines Newcastle - JFK route that was announced in a blaze of publicity some months back, then disappeared before it actually happened? (Cynical.. moi? ;):D )

I guess this is an attempt to compete against Eos, maxjet etc. but it's not going to work in my opinion; the convenient access (for some) provided by STN is only part of the success of the newcomers and AA can definitely not compete on service.

I think you will find that it is to open up slots for the DFW/RDU flights into LHR while still keeping the frequency to London in general.

Will be interesting to see what happens- the potential is there.

Btw the CO EWR-STN service was in 2001 and of course was knocked on the head due to 9/11.
