(Probably one for NapaMatt ...) I'm looking for personal recommendations for Napa Valley hotels. My Nota Bene guide says that Milliken Creek is excellent, and I like the fact that you can walk into Napa (and therefore drink during dinner!). Be grateful for any other suggestions from people. I'll be travelling in mid-May with the significant other and prefer quality over quantity !!!

What a great place to visit! Have you checked out Trip Advisor?.

My advice would be to contact the hotels now and see whether they have a special rate or a package price. If the prices still seem high there is another option, which would be to stay in San Francisco and take a day trip to the Valley.

You probably already saw NapaMatt's list of Napa restaurants, posted again here.
