It is a matter of personal preference, accoustically both are excellent products, for me the over-ear QC2s have it. Get yourself along to a Bose store and try them both for yourself, it's the only way.

I've had a pair of QC2's for a few years and love them. I bought a pair of QC3's recently thinking that I'd give my wife the QC2's but found I prefer the surround the ear cup design of the QC2's whereas luckily she prefers the QC3's because they aren't fully enclosing!

The QC3 uses a rechargeable battery but for me carrying a spare AAA for the QC2 is more convenient as they inevitably expire when you don't have the option to plug in and recharge!

Both offer excellent noise canceling but I feel the QC2 has the edge, as has been advised, bets to try the two at a Bose stockist before handing over your cash.

Oddly though they had QC3s on the flight I was on... at least they were the BOSE noise cancelling earphones that are flat and soft on the ear (QC3s?), not the ones that cup right over the ear (QC2s?).

By the way, anyone know where the best deals to get QC3s are? I am assuming the US (with the current strong pound), but anywhere in particular?
