Quick one, and I hope someone can help...

I am off on the 31st Aug to MCO, and its my first long haul club world in ages....

There are 9 of us in Club, and 2 in Econ... I know VS allow you to bring in a guest, and I know that BA dont unless you have the correct card, but, given we have 9 in club, what do people think the chances of us getting our 2 guests into the lounge??

Any advise would be great!!

Thanks for reading...

I'd say with that ratio, pretty high.

Smile, grovel, plead ignorance & bow to the lounge-dragon's authority. I'd put money on it being OK. [y]

Regardless, I've taken guests in on a 1:1 ratio before and it was fine - I didn't even realise it wasn't "allowed" until the other month when someone else asked!

Or even with 9 ;)

Well Danno, you'll just have to put us out of our misery by reporting back on the 31st... [8D]

I bet you do [y]

Are there any BA Executive Club members (apart from Blue) in the group? This would make your case stronger I would hope!

BA also dont do themselves any favors by letting pax think they do get lounge access when actually they dont. Just booked a BA reward flight for MAN>LHR>MAN and as a Blue Exec Club card holder at the bottom of my itinerary for both flights is the following piece of very mis-leading text:

After Check-in
British Airways Terraces Lounge - After security in the Departures Lounge, turn left and use the lift/staircase to access lounge (Lounge access is subject to capacity restrictions)

So I'm going to turn up and show the lounge dragons my Itinerary.

Mention that you thought that you were allowed as VS allows J travelers one guest and that maybe next time you will fly VS. Hell they (VS) offers better lounge amenities....Talking points

Fingers crossed!!!! I hope so!, but, as they say....

You get what pay for....,

but that does suck on a 4.5 / 1 ratio!!!

Anyhow, thanks for the support and advice!

Why is that misleading ?? ..... Its just telling you where the lounge is ... doesn't say you can go in ...;)

Cheers

You could also add to your itinerary on VFlyer and say that you are looking for additional access to the lounge. Also check other listed itenaries for your dates. You never know there may well be one or two BA Silver/Gold or Prem holders able to get you (or your gustes) in with them.

The other place to check out is http://www.ba97.com/ba97/calendar/ba97.asp

Generally more BA fliers use it (infact more fliers altogether) and they register their lounge visits too. So a good chance of your finding some assistance there...

No Cerberus on the door will tell you that:D

Danno with 9 of you in J I think you would be unlucky to have 2 guests turned away.I have seen a lot of people turned away at the T4 LHR F lounge but it is always bursting at the seams. The LGW terraces I am sure will be a little more accommodating.

Had hackneyguy not deleted his replies, I could have gone down the "told you so" route...

... but I won't. [:w]
