Do airlines fly from London to Blackpool?

I have to go from Surrey (within 20 mins of LGW and 30 of LHR) to Blackpool, and rather than drive I'd prefer to fly but can't find any airlines that fly the route. Does anyone know of an airline that flys from London airports to Blackpool???

Not according to the Blackpool Airport website. I am sure there was an airline that did operate this route but IIRC it stopped doing so earlier this year.

Edit: Yup it was Ryanair, stopped on the 3rd June this year after doing the STN-BLK route since 2003

I assume that FR did okay while the WCML from Euston was in a state of disarray with frequent "bustitution" during the engineering works to modernise the line. Now that most of the highly disruptive work is completed giving shorter journey times, and the increased airline security took hold, the train became more attractive, I assume that the yields just don't fall within FR's requirements.

Like Enron had a policy of cutting it's "poorest performing" staff (though that process turned out to be flawed, but that's a different discussion), FR seems to have a policy of ditching it's bottom 3-5 underperforming routes, every so often.

Well, having previously tried the train to Liverpool a year ago, just to see how it compared to driving and having the journey from hell courtesy of a psycho-scouser sitting opposite me with his wierd son next to me it would have to be 1st/Business class or nothing if its going to be the train.

The cost from Leatherhead works out at approximately;
Parking at Surbiton BR - £16.00
Return to Euston £12.00
Return to Blackpool £348.00 [:0](yes, you did read that correctly!)
Taxi or whatever in Blackpool ~ £10.00 if I'm lucky.

Grand Total ~ £386.00GBP!!! Bargain....

And they wonder why some people prefer the comfort and cost of their own cars when it comes to business travel.[:(]
