I would argue the first comment, I love the Cincinnati airport, the rest..yep of course the normal suspects.

JFK, BOS, LGA and MIA....well I have not been to MIA in a loooong time...I fly into FLL instead just to avoid that hell hole.

I'm very fond of MIA but thats mostly becuase so many of my adventures have started there, just walking though the doors takes me back 20 years. Next time anyone is there, jump a blue taxi (airport area cab) and tell the driver to take the permitter road to Runway 35 and have a cold beer and a great ribeye with a view over the runways (surprise surprise). If you have at least two hours between flights (and are prepared to go through security that is).

I have lot's of great memories of flying into MIA as a kid in the 70's and 80's, however to me it is now just an old mess that needs to be knocked down and rebuilt...kind of like Heathrow.

The one big thing that always sticks in my mind is flying in at the start of summer holidays and walking out to the taxi line and having the humidity just knock the breath out of me.

Had exactly the same thoughts when I was in Miami earlier in August.

Well we will be getting in at 5.30am next week..so it shouldn't be that bad.

However on that note...DFW really sucks if it is humid, we were there last year and the AC just wasn't cutting it [n]

In the end though, as much as we may complain about all these airports, try flying out of some of the third world one's.

Heck we were flying out of Tamarindo in March..100 degree's...100% humidity...one little office fan...not good

CDG for me. Got totally lost on arrival one friday night as a teen travelling solo. No-one willing to help, crap signage....

Had a 'good time' that weekend so can't complain about the return leg [}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)]

Still, arriving there was horrible.

I waded through a fair portion of that thinking, these people need to travel to India ... MIA is marvellous in comparison. Then one person mentioned Mumbai (BOM) to which I would add Bangalore as even worse followed by Hyderabad. All are gateways for huge numbers of executives passing through doing business, yet all are apalling. Good thing that BLR and HYD have new airports planned ...

I guess I'm not going to enjoy my six hour layover in MIA then! Anything worth nipping out of the airport to do nearby?

oxmatt, if you arent hampered down by baggage then you can be in South Beach in twenty minutes inb a cab. Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road being the more usual stops.

I havent been there in years mind you but I hear things havent changed much, its still a blast.

Yes! Absolutely correct. Having been to DEL and BLR, I can attest how crap they are. But then when I compare them to BAA run airports, and try and remind myself that the UK is meant to be a developed nation....[V]

Mumbai domestic terminal is pretty good, was recently done up. Delhi domestic terminal is on a par with Hyderabad/Bangalore. I;m sure the international terminal there is good but why risk it??

Ahh yes, Delhi domestic terminal. Reminds me of BRS airport, which is anywhere buyt Bristol. I remember landing at DEL Intl, only to be told that the domestic terminal was 4 miles away (and there was the 'free' shuttle bus, I opted for a private transfer instead). It made LTN look posh.

Thanks,
Richard
