Advice re. upgrading please

I'm totally confused [:I] I spoke to the premier team yesterday re. upgrading our 3 miles + money fares (PE) to UC. I was quoted a figure to do this. After thinking about it I rung back today and spoke to someone else. She explained only 2 of us could upgrade on the miles + money fare as there were only 2 seats available at that fare, and the last person could not upgrade at all as there was no more miles + money availability. That was fine so I asked about upgrading without the miles + money (i.e. paying the fare what I was told originally) and was told I could not cancel the original miles + money PE fare, or change it to another UC fare, and that basically there was nothing I could do. This is the first time I've ever tried to do anything like this - is this correct?

MPM Fares are non changeable and cannot be cancelled. I am a little surprised that they won't bend the rules as you are wanted to spend more then but it sounds as though they are sticking to the rules.

The first thing I would suggest is that you try again. Speak to the premier team and ask them again if you can upgrade the seats and if 2 out of 3 can be moved ask WHAT upgrade options are available (rather than ask about specific upgrade options)

At the end of all this you may just find that what you are trying to do is not possible with the type of tickets you have and the type of seats that are still available.

Thanks Paul - I've now managed to get 3 UC seats on our return flight - it was the outbound flight I really wanted so they could access the LGW clubhouse, but at least I've managed to get 3 seats on the return
