Amsterdam - Cologne jaunt

I'm thinking about doing a quick trip over to Cologne and coming back via Amsterdam (bit of a nostalgia trip for me). Bearing in mind I'd like to travel in some style, I'm looking at a business class return to Amsterdam, then a First Class return to Cologne on Die Bahn. Anyone travelled on the the German intercontinentals?, and are they ok?

Any other suggestions doing the trip in reasonable comfort without going mad on the wallet?

Did a trip to Magbeburg from Hannover a couple of years back - very comfy trains - departed and arrived spot on tie ( no suprise there) and they have a wonderful we site with all the info you need - and its in English!!!

Koln is a great place; especially in Mid-February.
