Noise cancelling headphones

Who has any suggestions with regards to noise cancelling headphones.

I've been looking at the original Bose over the ear ones for sometime, but having found other products better than Bose, I've held back.

I tested the Bose Soundock for the Ipod back to back with the Klipsch iGroove HD and it outshone the Bose.

I don't want to make a mistake with this potential purchase.

Also, suggestions as to where to buy the recommendation would help.

Bose seem to be the V-Flyer headphones of choice.

If you do a search using Bose as the search term, you will get loads of threads, including this one, and this older one, that offer lots of good advice.

They don't tend to honour the discount on Bose products in Apple stores I found.

We both have Bose, I have the QC2 over-ear and Birkin has the QC3 on-ear, IMHO, both are excellent performers.

Also, the UK Bose QC3s come with a spare battery and travel charger. You don't get these from the US stores, so while they are cheaper in the US, if you want the extras, it's no cheaper than buying here.

Rats, I did go to the Valley Fair store last night, but it was being re-modeled and much smaler, so I'll head to the SF one at the weekend.

Travel charger? Sarah's QC3's came with a small travel charger in the case (US Purchase).

Really? The US ones are advertised as having the US charger and only one battery. The UK ones come with all the different plug adapters and a spare battery. [:$]

Checked with the Apple store, they do not offer corporate discount on the Bose products as mentioned above.
Also, they do not have any BOSE QC2s in stock, they said it was either due to a change of packaging or it's being dropped.

I get a corporate discount from the online store on the Bose headphones, I just checked. It's not much though, only around £10 cheaper. There are sites on the net with Apple store discount codes, making it cheaper than the corporate discount I get, so it's not really worth it.
