Flying as a hobby

Do any V Flyer's fly Gliders, aeroplanes etc in their spare time?

I fly gliders. Its such fun [y]

Have always wanted to try a skydive - although i think i would
have to be pushed out!!

Every once and a while I take an old bi plane up for a spin down in San Diego, sorry to say that it has been a while....oh and no sky diving here.

I took flying lessons a few years ago and absolutely loved it, though its an expensive hobby. Would love to get my PPL one day but right now i'm quite happy being a passenger.

I've had some flying lessons in the past few years the most memorable being flying around Jersey on a beautiful clear day. like sarah i found it an expensive hobby so its only now and then.

You should think about doing your NPPL. You can only fly vfr in the
uk and at daytime but the medical is much cheaper and you can
fly an slmg motorglider for £60 per hour so works out quite cheap.

Another route is to start gliding and then when you have your bronze badge you only need 10 hours in the motorglider to get your NPPL

I had my first taste in a little RAF Chipmunk 2-seater out of Abingdon. Sick as a dog!!! I blame it on no suite, and poor in-flight trolley service.

Me too!!!! Spent 9 years flying chippies from RAF woodvale... Once ruined a flying helmet by upchucking into it!

Yea, skydiving rocks! Tons of pictures up on Facebook + a video somewhere on the internet. Was good fun! Should do it again.

I have my commercial single and multi airplane-land certificate with a full instrument rating. Got a BS in Aerospace/ProPilot but since flying does not pay I do accounting until I go to grad school.
