Hi,
Flight: VS 351 BOM LHR
Flying Time: announced 9hr 6 min actual 9hr 20 min
Checked in at time at bom. the guy at the xray mach asked was it business class so the trolley was taken till check in. Immi was just 10 mins with a lady who was more interested in talking to the one next door and just stamped the pport and gave it back. While waiting saw the digits EA on the tail so was happy to see a UCS aircraft though I had called the airport in the morning and the girl told me a UCS plane had come.
The lounge was packed with Jet BA and Virgin business class.
Boarded from gate 5 which is after the duty free shop. My initial reaction to UCS was very honestly a fright and on sitting it was worse. I was horrified when I entered the cabin cause each seat looked really small. Initial time sitting was also not yahoo. It was packed with just 4 suites free in the main cabin and a lesser amt in the second cabin. Laurent Perrier was lovely.
Airborne slightly after 210 drinks were served my choice of which was a long island ice tea with cheese crispies (fancy name for cheeslings).
Lunch was served over Afghanistan and it was v good.
Muligatawny Chicken Soup
Salmon Steak in Dill Butter Sauce served with Lemon and Rocket Risotto + Aus
Chardonnay Barossa Valley
Profitroles in warm white chocolate sauce
crackers with brie cheddar and danish blue.
I must say there are not many words that can describe UCS its just unbelivable. Landed at LHR at 1830 and breezed thru fast track in about 15 mins and was in central london a little after that.
Was very lucky not to get VAEL. Saw her parked when we landed and said to her you just chill between here and lagos and dont you dare be there on my return.
Currently enjoying the weather and look forward to my return flight.
