VS004 JFK-LHR 6 Jun 06 (Econ)

Left New York City on VS004 (Plane Sailing so no V-port Boo [:0]) in Y just couldnt stretch to PE both ways this time. Can anyone explain the strange check-in at JFK. Produce tickets, get bags weighed, obtain baggage receipts and then personally trundle baggage to the TSA station [?].

Anyway, left the gate 5 mins late and then sat in a queue, which meant we were 35 mins late taking off. Announcement from the flight deck advised a 6 hr 12 min crossing - hooray. Had the beef stew with rice and veg move on and Mrs T had some chicken thingy (mediocre). Declined the all-new East Coast eastbound breakfast.

To continue, that 6hr 12 min estimate would probably have been spot on had we not encountered the inevitable holding pattern delay over LHR and we actually landed around 0645. Still, the bags came off reasonably quickly, the meet and greet guy arrived in fairly short order and we were home around 2_ hours later after an uneventful M40/M6 journey.

All in all an interesting trip so now we start the planning for perhaps MAN-MCO for next April [^] [y]

Had the same bag-weighing fiasco at LAX on return from my trip [:(]

LHR stacking too, but it was the first time in 4 flights I've not had to be bussed to the terminal for lack of a stand. [:)]

Primarily because of the look (compacted rabbit droppings) and sugar content of the cereal bar, and the 'sweaty' appearance of the muffin [:$]
