Firstly sorry for the delay in writing this trip report, so it's not what you know it's who you know then, well that proved correct when I booked me myself and I onto the above flight for 4 days in Dallas to see and old school mate. I picked up a reasonable WT fare online just after xmas and counted down the days. I rememebered that my ex wife was quite paly with a LHW steward so got his no. several days before flight and suggested anything he could do to make my 10 hours west would be nice, he suggested he would write off to gatwick but couldnt promise.

So 24 hours before flight OLCI came into it's own and if i'm honest it was the first time I had used this when flying so was fairly sceptical of the process, how wrong I was, seamless would be the best would to describe my experience. I swapped my window seat that the computer had alocated me and moved to exit row(no 75 fee virgin take note [V]).

Flight due to leave 1020 was picked up from Brighton and 26 mins later was walking into north terminal. Quickly found the bag drop off section and within 5 mins had joined the line for security, this took about 40 mins but hey no probs with that. Found myself a nice window seat in the bar and consumed 3 pints of Dublins finest and smoked my last death sticks for ten hours. Around 0955 gate was called and I had my first experience of the Glass Bridge. Found the gate and established just by numbers that the flight was quiet.

Around 1005 they started boarding and when it was my turn I got the news that the dispater wanted to re seat me[:D] If i'm honest I thought WT+ at best so when I was guded to 13D in the Club section I was lost for words. I have only ever flown ecconomy so I was very excited. First thing that shocked me was the size of the seats and that some faced to the back of the Aircraft. Anyway settled down with my comp. paper and Champers and just took it all in. Flight was airbourne around 1040 and all went well. The attendants so came round with a selection of wines and menu's ect. I ordered a starter and beef main dish with more fine wine and settled into the first movie. The entertainment system is probably the only part of this fantastic experience that let it down, the fact that you cant watch on demand meant I missed the starts of both films but hey what an experience.

We landed in DFW on time weather was bright windy and fairly chilly, but was through customs in no time and at 1540 local was supping on Dublins finest and with Patch removed back killing myself slowley in an Irish bar in Plano wathching Blackburn Rovers Knock the Gunners out of the FA Cup. Had a great few days bit a golf and went to the Dallas Stars game then home on Sunday afternoon, upgraded my self to WT+ $250 and bagged a bulk head with no one behind or next to me. Only 7 and a bit hours back and was back in my flat in Brighton by 0815.

To summarise a ver slick and seamless operation by BA and my once in a lifetime experience in Club will be a memory I will always treasure. Thank you for reading.
