That's almost an industry ... I worked with someone once and he lost five in a year while travelling. But 450 net a week (apparently about 50% are 'located')! That must make BAA some money [}:)].

I fear the real money is made by those who buy them second hand at auction, then grab all of the commercially sensitive information and the personal data from the hard drives and discs. [n]

Whilst I know many do go missing/lost/stolen. That does sound rather a lot of laptops for one airport (46,800 in a year) ! I'd be interested to know who processes the 23,400 + that are found ... sounds like a bit of clever marketing to me by Dell to boost subscriptions for their recovery services.

I'd question the accuarcy of the article overall. As to the advice of sticking your details on the outside of your laptop, my word.

It does smack of an advert for Dell.
