After a one night stay in SFO, it was time to head down to Vegas! Having spent the morning wandering around the park, we headed back to SFO on the BART. Arrived having already web checked in the afternoon before into seats 2D/F. AT check in we asked about the lounge, and whether they would let us in being VS Flying Club gold and we were advised to try our luck. However at the Club House, it was a resounding NO and back to the desk to pay up. Cost $40 per person - some might not think worth it, but we did have lunch and a few drinkies in there!

Flight was called (personally) and we headed to the gate area that was a real mass of people - we used the lane next to the Clear Blue lane and therefore were through very quickly. Forgot to take my laptop out, so got in a little bit of trouble!

We were allowed to board straight away - odd that all the blinds were down, but the mood lighting is very good. The seats are very spacious in First and the leg room is really excellent - would have loved to have been on a longer flight! Offered a drink fairly soon after getting on board and settled down whilst the rest of the flight boarded.

Everything is fun, although serious, especially the inflight safety annoucement. Unfortunately in First you get a manual demonstration rather than watching a video which I should imagine is very funny!

After take off we were offered several rounds of drinks throughout the one hour flight, and a snack box consisting of marinated olives, tomatoes and feta and a strawberry cheesecake. A nice light snack having already eaten in the lounge.

Arrived on time, off the plane fairly quickly and then it was off to the nightmare of LAS baggage reclaim - 3 or 4 flights on the same carousel which made getting bags difficult.

All in all, a really good flight and wouldn't mind using VX to do East/West coast flights in the future if necessary.....no only if you could earn VS tier points and miles on VX metal!

Absolutely - I'm looking forward to my first VX flight, but where there's a choice I'll go fo CO to get miles and TPs over VAmerica until they sort this out. ISTC that this was 'promised' last year, but still no news. In tandem, it would seem sensible to allow clubhouse access for travelling in First if you are VS Au ...
