Do VH prices go down?

I know there is no real concrete answer to this but am just wondering.

Am thinking of booking my flydrive holiday for next summer to visit my parents in Fl.

This year we are going to be flying into MIA and then doing a bit of a tour around before getting to my parents place.

My question is this: Do VH fly drive prices every come down. The price I have been quoted is very reasonable IMHO but I dont want to book to find the price down in a couple of months.

I've seen package prices go down during sale times (and then go back up again)

My ORD VH hotel+flight package is now £200 more than I paid for it during the VH sale the other week.

Not sure about Fly Drives though. My feeling would be that I dont think you will see many Florida holidays discounted much more than they are now as there's now more demand for them due to XL/TCD going.

I've noticed that the Florida Special Offer prices on the main VH page are increasing as they where showing 'from £389' a few days ago. It now says 'from £449'.

There's also less VH can apply discount to on Fly Drive packages.

I usually see the best prices around 3 months prior to travel off season on flydrives - but if it is a holiday period book ASAP.

I am not sure prices come down, they do have numerous sales and 10% weekends, but as they print their brochures with prices for a year or so in advance they are pretty rigid.

I would however say book now if you are getting a good price and are happy with it. With the loss of XL/TCD the MCO/MIA route is still going to be popular but with quite a few less flights per week serving it, so that can surely only push prices up and sell out the flights quicker.

Actually VH prices just dropped a couple of weeks ago for next summer. Many folk who booked at the original price have managed to have their price reduced. It followed VA's price drop for a similar period.

Slightly off thread but in my experience its cheaper to book your flights with VS and then book car hire seperately with someone like http://www.carhire3000.com . IIRC, VH were wanting some pretty stiff insurance payments which made the cost much more than going down the route above.

Yes I know but VH are the only ones who offer a reasonable deal for under 25's to drive in the US.

IIRC, I did a dummy booking on carhire3000 based on a 24 Yr old and it came out OK. I'm assuming you have tried them already?
