classic example of 'told you so' - why leaving your belt 'loose fastened' is not a bad idea.

I was on the VS flight from NAS a couple of years ago that experienced a sudden drop in altitude over the space of a few seconds (which I think was caused by CAT).
It was about 25mins after take-off and the seat belt sign had been turned off but was put back on shortly before it happened. Anything that wasn't fastened down hit the cabin roof (including pax & crew).
Although, we didn't divert or turn back (both options where considered at the time) as the injuries on board where not a bad as this by the sounds of it.
Not something I'd like to experience again.
The seat belts are there for a reason. I've always kept mine on loose, even more so now after that flight.
