After a massive 27 hours in Mallorca, it was time to head home. This time we had had a couple of hours in the afternoon before to wander around the old town of Palma - really nice but it was 35 degrees there!

Woke at 03.45 local time (02.45 UK time) to show and dress, as it was straight to work once we got back. Having checked out of the hotel, it was a quick taxi ride to the airport and through security (which was just opening when we got there) - the BA flight is the first morning flight out at the moment I think. It always seems such a pain unloading pockets etc when you are feeling so tired and not yet properly awake!

Wandered past the VIP lounge in Mallorca - been in before and not bad - opens at 06:00, but our flight departed at 05:40. So we decided to head down to the 'A' gates there that seem miles away. No-one at the Security / Passport check. Quick cup of coffeee, during which they advised passengers on our flight to go to the gate area. Boarding wasn't actually called, but we got there 10 minutes before reported gate closer to find we were the last 2 to board.

This time 7 rows of Club, but only 4 passengers. There were an additional 21 in EuroTraveller...what a busy flight!! Had to wait for scheduled gate closure to go, as there were still another 4 passengers who didn't make the flight - not sure if they checked in or were just booked.

Seemed a very long take-off for such few passengers, but there we were airbourne for a very bumpy flight back to the UK. By the time we were up in the air, I was awake so decided to go for the breakie as was a little peckish. Not too bad, apart from the juice was in a carton with a straw that I just couldn't seem to open!! Tray cleared really quickly and then it was time to try and get a little more shut-eye. I just can't seem to get myself comfy in the the Club Europe cabin, although I think I got a few hours shut-eye, even with the very small pillow that was offered!

Not long before landing the purser came around, saying he had made fresh tea and coffee if I was interested. Really nice touch, and hadn't expected that at all. Landed few minutes early to a cold, grey and wet LGW. Taxied to an off-terminal stand, but fortunately given the few passengers we were heading back to the terminal relatively quickly. Passport control seemed really slow - I was able to use IRIS straight away, but my travelling companion got stuck in a very slow moving EU lane.

I just wish that the flight left PMI a little later, so you could get a bit more shut eye in a proper bed!!
