Well it was time to leave Orlando after an amazing holiday so off we all trooped for a final jaunt round the shops as there were still a few things needed from Bath & Body Works!.

We headed to the airport arriving about 3.30pm, dropped of the car and joined the queue for check in. For some reason it wouldnt let us do OCLI but the line wasnt too long and before long we were all at the check in desk with a lot more bags than what we arrived with!

Everyone got checked in but when it got to me and my OH, there seemed to be some sort of issue which prompted her to make a call. I couldnt work out what was wrong (and was panicking inside!) but when she came off the phone she offered OH and me an upgrade to PE. Nice one! She mentioned something about 800 members or perhaps it was 008 as those were the 1st few numbers of our FC Silver cards (which incidentally, have both been downgraded to red this month). We werent sure about taking the upgrade as it would mean separating from our party, but they said that they didnt mind and as it was a night flight and we would hopefully be sleeping most of the journey we said Yes please!

Security was a bit slow, but we got through and had a look round the shops for a bit before boarding.

Once on board (Ladybird) we had a drink and settled down. We took off about 35 mins late but once airborne, the crew started the drinks service pretty quickly then came and took our orders for food.

The menu was

SALAD
Mediterranean salad with Roma tomato, Kalamata olives. parmesan and Itallan herb dressing

MAIN COURSE
Chicken in barbeque sauce with red bliss mashed potato and roasted corn medley
Sauteed shrimp and scallops with sticky rice and buttered vegetables Vegetarian lasagne with broccoli and cauliflower

WARM BREAD
Artisan ciabatta roll or pumpernickle roll

DESSERT
Sticky toffee cake with raspberry coulis

CHEESE & BISCUITS
Cheddar with crackers

TEA AND COFFEE

We both opted for the Chicken which was lovely as was the rest of it.

I watched the The Women which passed some time then tried to sleep. I think I got a couple of hours which was better than nothing.

Breakfast started about 90 mins before landing. We both had a ham, egg and cheese muffin which, to be honest, was revolting! You cant have everything, I suppose [:w].

I think we landed about 10 mins behind schedule and into a quiet immigration hall. There seems to be a lot of work going on there and we couldnt easily find IRIS so we queued up and were quickly through and most of the bags were already on the belt.

Again, another great flight with VS. We were pleased with the upgrade although Im not sure that PE is really that much more comfortable than economy. Still nice to eat with proper cutlery though!!

Thanks for reading (and thanks for reading the other one!)

Nice result! even if PE doesn't offer massive differences, you would of no doubt appreciated the extra legroom, and the offer of the paint stripper post meal.

good on the upgrade - always difficult if only some of the party get an upgrade - we had the same dilema when some of us got bumped from premium to upper!

we flown PE for last few trips, and although there is not a great deal difference then ecom, you do get the other benefits, quicker check in,quicker boarding, quicker off the plane, and when we had a 24 hour delay 2 years ago,we were put up in the airport hotel (Orlando)whilst the others were bussed back to I.Drive,so suppose you have to look at the all round picture anyway glad you got a upgrade

Of course there is also the added luggage allowanace- 2 * 32 rather than 2 * 23 but that only really helps if you know before you hit the shops !

Nice result on the upgrade [:)].ISTBC but the baggage allowance would have remained at 2x23kg (as per original booking class).
